Frequently asked questions

A few answers. More peace of mind.

Get to know your cat’s litter.

Which Velvet litter is right for my cat?

Velvet PRO is bentonite litter with no additives, suitable for everyday use when you prefer a simpler formula. Velvet CARBON also contains no perfume or chemical fragrance additives; its difference is the addition of activated carbon to help absorb unpleasant odours rather than mask them with scent. Consider CARBON if odour control is a higher priority. For CARBON PLUS and CLEAN HOME, check each product’s specifications and the comparison table.

What is the difference between bags and buckets?

Bags and buckets describe the packaging; compare formulas and features by product name. A lidded bucket is convenient for storage and reusing the container, while a bag takes up less space. Each product page lists its precise weight, ingredients and benefits.

How much litter should I use, and when should I change it?

Fill a clean, dry tray with litter to a depth of around 7 cm; the quantity depends on the tray’s length and width. Scoop out waste and clumps daily and top up with fresh litter to maintain that depth. How often you need a complete change depends on the number of cats, usage and tray hygiene. If an unpleasant smell remains after daily scooping, or there is not enough clean litter, replace all the litter, wash the tray and dry it thoroughly before refilling.

How can I help my cat adjust to a new litter?

For cats that are sensitive to change, mix some new litter with the previous litter and increase the proportion over several days. Keep the tray in the same place, maintain your cleaning routine and watch your cat’s response. If your cat usually accepts litter changes easily, you can fill a clean tray entirely with Velvet from day one and let them explore the new experience. If they are reluctant, use a gradual transition.
